Is it likely to be banned buying gold online for World of Warcarft?

Is it likely to be banned buying gold from an online website for use in the World of Warcraft. Like what are the chances of being caught?

I highly, highly doubt that you will get banned for buying gold because people on Ebay are selling their accounts, and I think that's worse than selling gold. People are also selling equipments and items on Ebay, so it's not like Blizzard is taking a hard stance against selling stuff on Ebay.

You have to be a hacker or cheater in order to get banned. Buying gold is such a minor offense that it would be really stupid for Blizzard to ban someone.
