Iam looking into buying gold bars, is the internet a secure way to buy bars. What other experience have people had with gold bar purchases.

dont buy gold online, they will rip you off

- Buying gold online is very risky. What would you do if you paid for a solid gold 18K bar and you got a gold plated lead bar? Or a 10K solid gold bar? Send it back for a refund?
- Through banks buying gold bars are safe and bullion market are there always to trade
- Why buy gold? How will you protect it? Buy Gold stock, or Gold ETF's and it is the same thing. When buying gold, you will find that you will pay a big commission sometimes 10% or more. Same commission when you go to sell it. Then you have the worry as to the quality of the gold. Any crook, will tell you it is 24K. Gold Stocks and Gold ETF's will trade directly proportional to the increase in the value of the gold.
- I don't think buying online is safe. Am not sure with the legality in your country. There are some countries where a person can legally buy gold bars with certificate. Other choices are to buy gold coins as investment. Just check the commodity prices first to be safe.
- The best way to invest in gold is a EFT on the NYSE with the ticker GLD.
